Art is a language that allows us to express ourselves iuna number of different ways. Artistic activities help to foster intellectual development because art stimulates both sides of the brain, increases the capacity of memory, and increases attention and concentration. More than cognitive skills, however, art programs in early childhood education can improve certain social skills, like self-esteem and self-expression. Art encourages children how to work together with other children, as it gives them the chance to interact and cooperate with other children. Art encourages kids to try new things and practice to improve, making them persistent. Compass Early Learning identifies artistic skills and help to promote them.
